At just 138g, it is 40% lighter than any other competition shoe adidas has ever developed. The weight reduction has been made possible by various factors. A new outsole technology meets the already well-known Lightstrike Pro cushioning foam from adidas. This latest version of the Lightstrike Pro foam is produced using a state-of-the-art manufacturing process that reduces weight and also increases energy return.
Significantly less rubber has been used in the sole than in previous models. This saves weight while maintaining optimum grip. The construction of the shoe has also been optimized. For example, the insole has been omitted and the upper material made from lightweight mesh has a net-like structure that ensures optimum ventilation and extreme lightness.
For even more speed and better running economy, the rocker sole has a unique bend in the forefoot area. This completely new geometry propels the runner onto the forefoot and has been extensively tested by top athletes in the laboratory.
